Recurrent neonatal diarrhoea, digging into its epidemiology: Agents, age of appearance, and co-infections

Neonatal diarrhoea (ND) is an ongoing issue on farms, causing increased mortality and the worsening of piglet quality at weaning due to a decrease in average daily gain (ADG), leading to weight loss. It also increases the workload in the farrowing area and necessitates the use of antibiotics for control. HIPRA recently conducted a study to analyse the presence of pathogens involved in clinical cases of neonatal diarrhoea, depending on the age of the piglets, and which type of co-infections are most frequent.
